What does an AI-generated profile mean?
An AI-generated profile presents an identity that available information indicates is primarily synthetic or AI-created.
Does using AI make someone an AI creator?
No. Using AI for editing, backgrounds or occasional content does not automatically make a profile AI-generated. We look at the identity presented by the profile as a whole.
How do you review profiles?
We review publicly available disclosures, reliable sources and submitted information. Visual appearance alone is not enough.
Can anyone submit a profile?
Yes. Anyone can submit a public Instagram or Facebook profile for review. A submission is only a tip and never determines the final status.
Can I claim a profile?
Yes. A creator or account operator can verify control of the linked social account and provide additional information. Claiming a profile does not determine its status.
What if a status is wrong?
Anyone can submit additional information or request a correction. We review every credible request and update records when the available information changes.

KnowMee started with a feeling many people recognize: something about a profile does not add up, but there is no simple way to check.
AI-generated profiles can look, speak and behave like real people. Some are transparent about what they are. Others build relationships, promote products, sell subscriptions or ask for support while allowing their audience to believe there is a real person on the other side.
That ambiguity has consequences. People can invest attention, trust and money in an identity designed to feel human. Meanwhile, real creators are forced to compete with personas that never sleep, never age and can be produced at scale.
The problem is not that AI exists—or that creators use it. The problem begins when synthetic identities benefit from human trust without giving people the context to make an informed choice.
That is why we are building KnowMee: a public place to check what is known about a profile, understand its current status and contribute new information when something changes.
